| The Global Thermal Rock Property Database |
The IHFC welcomes contributions to the Global Thermal Rock Property Database (GTRPD). Researchers, laboratories, geological surveys, research institutions, and other data holders are invited to submit thermal rock property data for assessment and future integration into the database.
To prepare your data, please use the current GTRPD submission template and provide as much of the requested metadata as possible. Submitted information should document, where available, sample origin and geological context, lithology and composition, sampling depth, measurement method and instrument, specimen geometry and orientation, experimental temperature and pressure, saturation state, anisotropy, calibration, uncertainty, and data provenance. Original measured values should be reported wherever possible. Corrected, recalculated, aggregated, or model-derived values should be clearly identified and accompanied by information describing the applied processing or transformation.
Please upload the file using the submission form on this page. You may upload multiple files in one submission and are encouraged to include relevant supporting material, such as the original publication, data description, methodological documentation, or laboratory information.
All fields in the upload form marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. Submitted data will be reviewed within the framework of the Global Thermal Property Compilation Project before final acceptance into the GTRPD. Contributors may be contacted during the review process if additional information or clarification is required.
Please note: The GTRPD database structure, metadata standard, and quality and applicability framework are currently under development. Submitted datasets may therefore be used in pilot assessment and may require later adaptation to updated database standards.Submitted data will be checked for completeness, provenance, methodological documentation, internal consistency, and applicability within the evolving GTRPD framework. Where necessary, contributors may be contacted to clarify metadata, measurement conditions, units, or data processing.
The original source information will be preserved. Any correction, recalculation, harmonization, or derived value introduced during the assessment process will be documented transparently and linked to the original submitted or published value.
The IHFC aims to ensure transparent attribution of contributed datasets and scientific contributions. Data sources, publications, contributors, and persistent identifiers will be documented wherever available. Detailed principles for contributor recognition, citation, and acknowledgement will be developed within the Global Thermal Property Compilation Project.
