Special Issue conditions

The JoG special issue will be focussed, coherent thematic volume of the highest quality that will be of lasting use to the heat-flow community. The quality requirements are identical to those for regular research papers in JoG. The special issue is not a reporting of the conference proceedings, the manuscripts are full, regular research papers. Conference proceedings will be published separately.

All papers will as far as possible be reviewed by scientists outside the circle of volume contributors. In addition, where a reviewer requires “major revision”, the revised paper should be reviewed also. In the event that papers for the volume are accepted for publication after peer review, they are published in the on-line (Science Direct) edition of the journal ca just 3 weeks after acceptance. At that point, they are part of the citable literature. The actual collation of the collection of papers into the hardcopy volume follows later. Manuscripts thus do not wait on the last paper of the volume to be accepted and are thus more-or-less immediately available for use by the community after acceptance.
